I am a 200 hr. Registered Yoga Teacher through the Canadian Yoga Alliance and have been teaching since 2013, having completed my yoga teacher training at iGita Hot Yoga Studios in Oakville, Ontario. I have also obtained my BA in Secondary Education Biology in 2012 from Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania.
For me, yoga is a way to reconnect with my body, refresh my mind and have fun. I instruct multiple styles of yoga- traditional Hatha being my main style, and see below for the additional types.
I have a passion and some additional training in teaching : Core Rehabilitation- proper core function, pelvic floor work (particularly helpful for postpartum moms of any age), and posture. I have also taught many classes throughout the years for choirs, focusing on diaphragmic breathing, posture and neck/facial rest. Christian Yoga- check out more on this page.
I would consider my teaching style to be considered "cheery" with emphasis on gratitude, postural alignment and breath-work. I aim to create a safe and warm space for you to practice yoga, pause & rest and leave feeling refreshed.
Through having an active background, I found yoga to challenge my physical strength and endurance, while providing an opportunity to continue to learn to be mindful and deepen my overall body awareness. My favourite postures would probably have to be downward dog and supported side plank. At home, in Dundas, Ontario Canada, I am blessed with a loving, supportive husband and two young children. Outside of yoga instruction, I am also a beekeeper, nature educator and supply teacher.
